So I had my 4 month check up at the Dr's earlier this week, and I am happy to report that everything is going as it should. Besides gaining 10 lbs already, I am feeling pretty good! It's funny, because although my appetite has certainly increased, I really haven't been eating that many extra calories, so I was worried I was gaining too much weight too fast, but the Dr. says I am doing well, so I will try not to worry about that too much. This past weekend I volunteered to be a Christmas bell ringer for the Salvation Army. The shift was three hours long on Saturday afternoon, but we had unusually warm weather this weekend so it was actually very pleasant to be outside for that long. My sister was born with a heart condition called aortic stenosis, which is a narrowing of the aortic valve. Her first surgery was when she was only 10 weeks old. She has had several surgeries since, replacing the valve. The last time she had one was when she was about 13. She is almost 27 now. We knew eventually she would need another valve replacement, since the donors valve that is in now will not be durable to hold up forever. She has been getting a lot of irregular heart palpitations late...

We went camping this weekend up north to my husband's grandparents' property. They own over 140 acres of what used to be farm land in the tiniest town you have ever seen. Seriously I would guess the population to be around 100! So it is very nice property with a river for canoeing, but besides that, is pretty boring and in the middle of nowhere. I have always known that I have a sensitive stomach. I have to be careful with food sometimes because I tend to get a lot a stomach aches and cramps fairly often. Sometimes everday.
