It's a girl!
Published on February 3, 2006 By jennybean In Home & Family
Yesterday my husband's sister had her baby. A beautiful little girl named Abigail. This makes my husband and myself an aunt and uncle for the first time, and we could not be more excited! It didn't really sink in while she was pregnant, but now I have come to the realization that I have a neice, and she is going to be spoiled like crazy! She is the first grandchild for both sides of the family

Now I am going to have to go shopping this weekend and get started on spoiling the little princess!

Congrats, my sister had fraternal twin girls two years ago, it is amazing, I was 21 at the time and didn't like kids. I love them now. It is amazing how a niece or nephew can do that to you. She is 7 months pregnant now with a BOY. HOORAY for kids.

That's the reaction my brother has had to my kids. He's excited 'cause he's got a niece and a bunch of nephews, even if he doesn't have kids of his own.

The other brother ... I guess he's excited ... he's not managed to meet half the kids. Although, his wife started getting all weepy eyed when they were there for my youngest son's birth (if only 'cause my dad had a heart attack on Tuesday and the lad was born on Thursday).

Thanks everyone! I am very excited, and I know my sister and brother in law are going to be great parents! I have to admit it does get me excited for when the time comes when we are ready to start a family. (sometime in the not-so-near future though!!!)

I have so much fun shopping for girlie clothes for my niece! I was at the hospital when she was born and got to be the first person she ever pooped on I know, it's quite and honor. She likes to hear that story because she's still a little stinker.

They change soooo much in that first year so make sure you see her as much as you can. Babies are so wonderful. I can't wait until ours is here!

Congratulations! Wow, what a week, huh? Good timing though, since now you and the hubby will have more free time to spend with family!

You and my sister!  She loved her little girls so she could shop for their clothes!  Only a woman would understand I guess.

Hahahaha!!! That's funny, but I guess an honor just the same! There are so many girly clothes I wanted to buy her for the shower, but they didnt find out the sex. Now I have to go back and buy all those cute little dresses and bonnets I found!! That baby will be a girly girl if I have anything to say about it!

I know! I am so excited for you. How have you been feeling lately? Are you guys going to find out the sex of the baby before it's born?

Yeah, no kidding! And Scott's birthday is Monday, too. We were actually supposed to have his family's birthday dinner for him tonight; guess we'll have to reschedule for a joint party for him and the baby! You're right though, at least now his weekends should be free so we can visit as much as we like; his sister only lives 10 minutes away.

Very cool. I'm expecting to be an aunt next month, and my future niece's name will also be Abigail!
