So I had my 4 month check up at the Dr's earlier this week, and I am happy to report that everything is going as it should. Besides gaining 10 lbs already, I am feeling pretty good! It's funny, because although my appetite has certainly increased, I really haven't been eating that many extra calories, so I was worried I was gaining too much weight too fast, but the Dr. says I am doing well, so I will try not to worry about that too much. My sister was born with a heart condition called aortic stenosis, which is a narrowing of the aortic valve. Her first surgery was when she was only 10 weeks old. She has had several surgeries since, replacing the valve. The last time she had one was when she was about 13. She is almost 27 now. We knew eventually she would need another valve replacement, since the donors valve that is in now will not be durable to hold up forever. Yesterday my husband's sister had her baby. A beautiful little girl named Abigail. This makes my husband and myself an aunt and uncle for the first time, and we could not be more excited!
